Raised in West Los Angeles, Donna knew at a very young age that she wanted to be a counselor. "Listening" became her trade at nine years old with friends and even the parents of friends. Banking was also an interest and Beverly Hills became the location for her employment. The only problem was that the banking trade did not quite cover the cost of city shopping. So, on to graduating high school one year early, beginning Santa Monica college due to the love of the ocean and beach life. Then, transferring to California State Northridge and completing her bachelors in psychology and child development. Chapman College was next for the Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Marriage, two children (one year apart), a new home and business all occurred in the following two years. Part-time internship for several years and then finally licensed!!! Donna has worked as a school counselor for 10 years and at a private practice in the Corona, California area. Then, relocation to Orlando, Florida, working with severely mentally ill for three years. In 1999, back to California to continue individual, couple and family counseling. Donna also ran domestic violence groups for two years. Lots of work with children and diagnosis, including Attention Deficit Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Marriage and family counseling are both favorites. Working with the Department of Social Services for several years was a large part of her case work. Donna enjoys working with all ages, as young as three years old. Teens are also favorites to work with due to the challenges of parenting in today's world. Donna believes that once trust is established within a client/therapist relationship, client goals can be met.
