Born in San Diego, California, Native American, Mark Verdugo, has conquered many obstacles in his life and continues to work hard to maintain a clean and sober path. Mark is a Vietnam Veteran, served four years in the U.S. Air Force, and, due to several bad choices, spent nearly 20 years abusing different substances. In 1990 he decided to turn his life around and develop a life of sobriety. Sobriety has not been easy, but with each passing day, it does get easier. Since 1990, Mark has spent two years in Federal Prison, got divorced, and returned to school where he obtained an Associates in Arts from Cypress College, Cypress, California. Since that time, Mark has worked in several residential programs in Orange County and Riverside County. Mark earned his Certified Chemical Dependency Counseling Certificate in 2000 and his Certified California Prevention Specialist Certification in 2002. Educational Achievements include:
In 1993, Mark was awarded "Counselor of the Month" in Orange County Community Hospital.
