Born in
Havana, Cuba, Dr. De
LLanos has overcome many adversities in life. He is an example of how to
move forward with physical and emotional stability, inner peace and
happiness.

Due to his refusal to become involved in
Cuba's communist regimen, Ariel
De LLanos was deprived the opportunity to receive higher education, despite his
high academic status. Furthermore, mandatory military service was forced
upon all men. When he refused to participate in the communist armed forces,
he was condemned to a two-year prison term, renewable for life upon
continued refusal. While in prison, he endured forced labor, broken bones,
yet, in spite of that was able, for a period of time, to care for 300+
