A "little nurse", even as a young child, Deborah cared for her older sister's cuts and scrapes. In her school years, she nursed classmates through their pains and upset. Naturally, when she was fifteen years old, her first job was at a convalescent home as a nurse's aide. Though the job was physically demanding, she still remembers the non-material rewards and satisfaction from helping people and doing the work well.

Deborah eventually went to work in the computer industry, working her way up from the assembly line to a purchasing agent and supervisory position. When the industry began to change dramatically, she returned to her first passion and decided to seek a nursing education.

In 1990, Deborah was named Valedictorian of her class and awarded a Licensed Vocational Nurse certificate. She went to work immediately in the field, but she was not done with school yet. While working full-time at night serving injured veterans in San Diego, she attended daytime classes to complete her Registered Nursing program. After earning her RN in 1995, she continued to juggle full-time work and full-time school, progressing to a Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing. In 2001, she graduated Sigma Theta Tau with a Master's of Science in Nursing degree and a Family Nurse Practitioner certificate. Her break from the educational arena did not last long. Though she was now working for a large psychiatric private practice firm in San Diego, she returned to school. In 2004, she completed the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner post-graduate program and was board certified shortly after.

In 2006, Deborah relocated to the beautiful Temecula Valley. At that time, she returned to serving military veterans in the Veteran's Administration Health Care System, working at the Loma Linda facility as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Interested in the psychiatric health of women, she also works as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at a women's county jail in San Diego.

Deborah's goal is to start a Dialectical Behavior Therapy group at the Dr. DeLLanos clinic. She is thrilled to be a part of this practice and to have the opportunity to work with Dr. DeLLanos, a psychiatrist who deeply cares about his patients, and shares her belief in the importance of healing mind, body, and spirit for the ultimate happiness and good mental health.

Deborah Ellis, NP, is currently accepting new and follow-up patients at the Dr. De LLanos Clinic, located at 32605 Temecula Parkway, Suite 219, Temecula, California.  She works closely with Dr. De LLanos in each patient's treatment planning and is available for evening and Saturday appointments for adults.  To schedule a new or follow up appointment, please call (951) 506-9112 and speak with one of our Office Associates for further details.
